How this site is funded

Running UK Finance & Accountancy Tools costs money — hosting, maintenance and time. We plan to fund it through clearly-labelled advertising and (potentially) affiliate links. This page explains how that works and how it affects (or rather, doesn't affect) what we publish.

Advertising is clearly labelled

Any advertising on the site is displayed in separate ad slots, each labelled "Advertisement". It will never look like editorial content. We do not run "advertorials" — content that's paid for but disguised as our own writing.

It never sits inside the tools

Adverts will not be placed inside or between the fields and results of a calculator. The calculation experience is ad-free. Ad slots sit only in dedicated areas of pages, well away from the working tool.

Affiliate links (if and when we use them)

We may include affiliate links (for example, to comparison sites or financial products). If we do, we'll mark them clearly, e.g. with "(affiliate link)". Clicking one may earn us a small commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate links never change the results of a calculator or our editorial opinions, and we will never recommend a product we wouldn't recommend without the link.

Advertisers have no editorial control

No advertiser, affiliate partner or third party has any say in the figures, formulae, guides or recommendations on this site. Editorial decisions are ours alone, in line with our editorial policy.

Current status

Advertising is currently switched off across the site. If and when we enable it, every ad slot will be labelled as described above.
