Disclaimer

Last reviewed: 9 August 2026. This page is for general information only and is not legal, tax or financial advice.

Please read this disclaimer before relying on anything on UK Finance & Accountancy Tools. It matters more than most sites' small print because money decisions are involved.

We are not financial advisers or accountants

UK Finance & Accountancy Tools is not a firm of accountants, a financial adviser, a mortgage broker or a tax agent. We do not provide regulated financial, tax, investment, mortgage or legal advice. Nothing on this site is intended to be, or should be treated as, advice tailored to your personal circumstances.

Results are estimates

Calculator results are estimates produced from generalised rules and rates. They are not official calculations. Real-world amounts can differ for many reasons, including:

  • Your personal tax code, allowances and reliefs (which may differ from the defaults we use).
  • Additional income or benefits, pension arrangements, student loan repayment plans and regional rates (such as Scottish income tax).
  • Fees, early repayment charges and lender-specific terms on mortgages.
  • Rounding and timing conventions used by official bodies.

Always check official sources

Before making any decision based on our results, check the current rules at official sources. We link to GOV.UK and HMRC throughout the site, and you can confirm with HMRC, your employer, lender or a regulated professional as appropriate.

Rates change

UK tax and financial rules change regularly, sometimes mid-tax-year. While we review rates at the start of each tax year, a figure on this site may be out of date by the time you read it. Check the "tax year" shown on each calculator and confirm the latest rates.

No liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all liability for any loss or damage (including financial loss) arising directly or indirectly from your use of the site, its calculators or its content. You use the site at your own risk.

If you spot an error, we'd genuinely like to know — please contact us so we can fix it.
